1976 Triumph TR-6

(630) 567-0066(630) 567-0066 1976 Triumph TR6 BRG British Racing Green with Overdrive & Hardtop I am pleased to offer this 1976 Triumph TR6. This corrosion free example is finished in British Racing Green and features overdrive with factory hard top and soft top. The car has 102,XXX +/- original miles on it and the VIN # is T42565CF.

The body on this car is extremely straight with very nice body panels. This car lived with the same owner since the early 1980’s, with the last 12 years in storage in his garage. The car was originally russet brown and was painted with a base coat / clear coat to a very desirable British Racing Green in the 90’s. Paint still shows well but there are some nicks and scratches on the car (as you’d expect), primary from being bumped during its storage in the garage with no cover.

Lots of work went in to getting this car sorted and back on the road. The head was pulled and a complete overhaul was done by Ballos Machine in Richmond, Virginia including new valves, guides, springs, seats and head gasket. The coolant system was flushed and a new thermostat installed. A new fuel filter was installed along with a new fuel pump and the steel fuel line running from the fuel pump to the carburetors. Carburetors were rebuilt by Merlin Motorsports in Richmond, Virginia. All parts sourced from Moss.

Engine oil was changed with a new filter and fully synthetic Mobil 1 oil. The car has fresh plugs, Permatune electronic ignition, a new MSD coil, and a new Optima battery. Brakes were gone through at Merlin Motorsports with new rear brake cylinders, new front Moss sourced calipers, and a new master cylinder.

The car has older redline tires with good tread that are not cracking (suggest changing the tires to be safe). Car still has a full sized spare in the trunk. Interior presents well with beige leatherette seats. Seats show wear but are not in bad shape. The only blemish noted is on the drivers side left bolster. Dash top is in great shape as is the mahogany dash face. All gauges work correctly. Car has excellent oil pressure, charges properly, and runs nice and cool.

Small features like interior footwell lighting, glove box lighting, and trunk lighting still work. Hard top headliner is in great shape. Car has an aftermarket stereo that works well. Soft top and frame are included in the sale.

Compression numbers are 150 across the board with no smoking or strange noises. Clutch engages and gearbox shifts well. There is corrosion in the gas tank although it was flushed and has not created any problems. May need replacing in the future. Car is extremely straight, clean, and rust free.

Top does have a small tear in one of the corners. Owner has never had it on the car.. only the hard top.. the rear window is a little foggy but the zipper is good and closes.

Owner notes that there’s an exhaust leak where the exhaust connects to the header pipe.
