1977 Custom LWB - 69,750 original miles - 100% North Carolina all its life
1977 Ford F-100 Custom
Daily driver, showing 69,7xx miles with about 25-50 more added each week.Purchased from granddaughter of second owner in March 2024. This truck has always been in North Carolina, originally sold on March 3, 1977, from Lum's Ford in Midland, NC. Judging by the pedals, the OE rubber floor mat and the story behind the truck, I'd have to say this is certainly the original mileage.Strong and smooth 300-6 rebuilt ~2021. The 3-speed column shift and clutch are excellent. Factory 3.3 rear end (code 47 on tag).Because it was - and is still - my daily driver while I work on other projects, this meant that all fluids and filters have been renewed, all bulbs, new ww radial tires and an upgrade to power brakes - still maintaining the factory disc-drum setup. Manual steering box is smooth with no wander, no slop. Wipers and washers work as they should too.Manual windows, non-AC, non-locking column, radio delete, perfect headliner and visors, original paperwork...all the things I look for in a genuine classic. Paint is 100% from the Norfolk factory, with the exception of: LR bedside, bed and gate interiors and top of gate exterior. Hood patina is OE primer, not rust.Because it's parked outside my Greensboro home - complete with the volume of leaves from a 150-year old willow oak - I created a custom canvas tarp with Dot fasteners, supported by proper fiberglass sailing bows and stainless cleats. Likely the only one out there. Works fantastic and keeps your bed and luggage dry even through heavy southern rains.Three things will be needed for perfection: driver's seatbelt webbing is getting frayed; the horn button has been relocated to the cigar light delete; and while the signals and 4-way flashers all work fine - they don't self-cancel. I have the new switch/harness if you wish to do it.New Dennis Carpenter steering wheel and new JustDashes dash cover really complete the interior. I've kept both old parts for the curious. All OE paper service literature will also go with the sale - only the hat and the NOS NC tag will be sold separately. (How cool is the period hat holder?)Please see the video clip here for a walk-around and a better idea of how straight this F-100 really is.
