First things first, the engine is an L28, and it’s burning a significant amount of oil. Compression test came back at an even ~120PSI on all cylinders, but she’s burning oil for sure. Not sure if it’s rings or the cylinder head. But plan on needing to do an engine rebuild.
That said, it runs and drives well. Starts right up, idles fine, pulls strong. But the smell of burning oil and fact that I’m toping her off with oil regularly tells me it’s time for a rebuild.
Clean title, registered and insured in my name.
I spent the last 2 years getting this car back on the road. Unfortunately, I trusted the previous owner when he said the engine was in fine shape. Obviously it’s not. It was the only part of the car that I didn’t give much attention too. And I just don’t have the willpower or time to pull the engine and get it rebuilt.
No battery tray rust, no hatch rust, no underbody rust, no rusty fenders or running boards.
The paint and body is not show car quality, but it’s pretty good. The safari gold paint with the side stripe looks just right to me. Glass, badges, headlights, taillights, moldings, etc were all removed before paint. Dog legs and lower front fenders were repaired using KF Vintage Fab patch panels. Interior sound deadening was removed and interior was sprayed with truck bed liner. I think it looks good, but you can add carpeting on top of it if you like. I also never got around to getting door cards, but at least you can now see there’s no rust in the doors????
The underside was painstakingly striped of all undercoating and painted rattle can black. All suspension was removed and powdercoated black, so it’s incredibly tough and won’t dissolve with typical automotive fluids.
Odometer shows 68K, but that’s more than likely 168K in reality.

Overall, the car is pretty to look at, and really just needs some attention given to the engine. Like I said, it runs and drives and stops just fine. And if it wasn’t for the clear smell of burning oil, you’d say it runs like champ. These cars are very hard to find without rust, so that fact that this one has already had all that corrected is a huge time saver.
