99% original 1992 Honda Civic CX Hatchback.
Great start for restoration, swap or daily driver. I bought this car because I have always liked these EG hatches, and thinking of doing an engine swap to B or K series. But priorities have changed, (too many projects) so it is being offered for sale.This is the base, super economical, super light weight CX model with 70 HP engine, manual transmission, manual steering, no A/C or other options.Engine runs great. Car is driveable.
Background and what I know about the car:Purchased in AZ from private party appx. April 2023, with a clear Lousiana title. I transferred title to AZ, and in my name.Lousiana title showed original mileage corresponding with car's odometer (100016). New AZ title shows 100016 as mileage and "unknown"i.e., not verified. This is standard procedure in AZ whenever a new title is issued.I do believe the mileage is correct, based on mechanical and running condition.None of the instruments were functional at time of purchase. I was able to find a replacement cluster on Ebay and swapped the original speedometer over so the odometer still shows original miles. All instruments work as they should now.The new cluster also has a working tach, the original cluster did not. Original cluster will be included in sale.
Car has numerous small dings all over, with apparent hail damage on hood and roof. These are all small and easily repaired. Also has a few small areas of rust on body. NO RUST on underside. Car was coated with rust preventative when new.See pics.
Car has cloth front seats from an EK Civic. I have the original vinyl seat backs only, these will be included in sale.Various used parts in the original boxes came with the car. Being a mechanic myself, I believe these were parts that had been replaced by a prior owner. These included the timing belt, water pump, struts, brake pads, spark plugs, etc.All the glass is good. Looks like the side of the dashboard structure was repared(pics)
Car runs fine, and can be driven but it needs new tires before even thinking of traveling any distance.Also I think it needs a new clutch throwout bearing, as I can hear it when the engine is at idle. Goes away when you push the clutch pedal. Clutch works fine though.
The car has mostly sat since i bought it, just started, warmed up and driven around the block every couple of months to keep the battery up. No leaks, and all the lights work.
This is a classic, original and hard to find Honda from the tuner era. Keep as a collectible, build a classic swap or just drive it and get 50 MPG.
