1966 Chevrolet Nova Chevy ll L79 Four Speed. Won the Chevy Nova Nationals in 2003, 958 of 1000 points. Original interior, heater delete, radio delete and clock delete. NCRS shipping data report. L79 350 HP 327, 4 speed, and Posi Traction rear axle. Matching numbers on driveline. Approximately 1 of 200 Chevy ll Base Coupe L79's in 1966. Meticulously stored in Personal Homes and Museums since.History:
Produced in Norwood, Ohio on 4/28/1966, sold new to Sherwood Chevrolet Inc. in Johnson City, TN.First Owner, Raymond L. Schwalm from Pennsylvania during his move to Whittier, CA. Purchased on 5/20,1966. Traded Car in 5 1/2 months later to Don Steves Chevrolet with 196 miles on 10/5/1966.
Second Owner, Gregory P. Ostlund of Fullerton, CA. Purchased car 11/21/1966 from Don Steves Chevrolet (Famous for it's racing endeavors with Corvettes and High Performance Chevrolets in the 50's and 60's) . Parents purchased this car for Greg as a gift/second car. Drove car very little and put into storage a couple years later as he was married. Divorced in 1972 and car continued to sit in his parents garage. Sold in the late 1980's during his parents estate sale. When the car was sold, the odometer read 1,860 miles.
Third Owner, Rob S. Purchased the car from estate sale and used the car for shows. In 2003, Rob had the car repainted in a fresh coat of Regal Red before showing at the Chevy Nationals. Won the Chevy Nationals in 2003 scoring 958/1000. Car sat in collection. Sold to his good friend and car collector just after the Chevy Nationals with 1,906 miles.
Fourth Owner, Tom M. purchased the car and parked in his Chevrolet Collection. Pulled off original 585 cfm carburetor in 2013 as it need to be rebuilt and put in a Corvette 650 cfm, but kept the original 585 cfm in trunk.Fifth Owner, purchased and has sat in controlled warehouse since being purchased. At the time of the sale, the odometer read 1,958 miles. Rebuilt and reinstalled the orignal 585 cfm carburetor and reinstalled.
Sixth Owner is myself and has sat in my collection since.
