This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe is provided by a replacement 396ci V8 paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in black with silver stripes over black vinyl upholstery. Additional features include a cowl-induction hood, an aluminum radiator, LED taillights, an aftermarket stereo with a CD changer, front disc brakes, 15” Magum 500-style wheels, and SS badging.
Finished from the factory in Cranberry Red (75), the car was repainted black during previous ownership and was refinished again in 2021 by Al’s Rod and Custom of Sparks, Nevada. The rear bumper was also replaced at that time. Exterior details include a cowl-induction hood secured with pins, silver stripes, LED taillights, chrome side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and SS 396 badging.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. A Vintage Air A/C system was installed during current ownership, and appointments include electric windows, front headrests, a center console, Chevelle SS-branded floor mats, and an aftermarket digital stereo wired to a CD changer housed in the trunk.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a gauge cluster that was fitted with a replacement circuit board and features a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 45k miles, around 5k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a differential that was fitted with 3.08:1 ring and pinion gears in 2022. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
