Up for grabs is my ORIGINAL Survivor 1978 Dakota Beige Volkswagen Westfalia Deluxe Camper Bus!
One of the cleanest and most original bay window busses I've ever seen! I picked this bus up a couple years ago in a barn in Wyoming- where it had been since 2011. The owner told me it was parked due to a fuel pump going out. Upon first seeing the bus, I was astounded at how clean, straight and dry it was! According to the owner, the miles are original! It was an easy choice to bring her home! I decided I was NOT going to fully restore her, as I'm more of a fan of preserving the originality of a vehicle instead. So, that's exactly what I've done! I've spent the money on mechanicals and getting her dialed in. Last year, Air Cooled guru Colin Kellog of www.ItinerantAircooled.com came from New York to get her totally dialed in! We timed her correctly, set valves, manually adjusted the AFM- and she's been running like a top ever since! Colin's words were, "This is a damn good car!" I've put about 5000 trouble free miles on her since owning her, she's never given me ANY issues!
This is a super honest bus that has nothing to hide. No hidden rust, no bondo, no hack jobs, no ruining the interior and making it pink and blue- if you want originality this is about as good as it gets. It has scattered SURFACE rust only!! The ONLY cancer on the entire bus is a 4-inch section of the passenger dog leg, as pictured. Such a great bus!! I am ONLY selling it because I have to.
Things I've done since owning her:-Replaced gas tank, fuel lines, vaccuum hoses-New fuel injectors-Set timing, adjusted valves, set AFM-Complete brake job-New battery-Pop top seals-Many deep cleans-Wax job-More I'm forgetting
*I have some extra parts that will come with this bus, those pictured, (OEM quality front door panels, $250) kick panels, front windshield w/seal, front windshield curtain, etc. and also not pictured- the original child's cot and a replacement canvas pop top.
