1970 TRIUMPH GT6 Plus **ORIGINAL SURVIVOR EXAMPLE "ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA CAR"

Price: - Item location: Novi, Michigan, United States
Description:

1970 Triumph GT6

Attention British Car Enthusiasts:
Looking for a new caretaker for my '70 GT6 Plus California Car. It has zero rust and has never had any rust repair. It was purchased from the original family that purchased it new in 1970. It came with the original California "Pink Slip" and the "Blue and Yellow" California License Plates. It's the real deal with the original rare "Rostyle" hub caps.
The Triumph is an original survivor example that has not been restored, but does have many new parts. Always garage stored and used on nicest of days. Has seen very little use over the years.

**Please have your funds in order prior to placing a bid**
I will be adding more pictures within the next few days.

A wonderful opportunity for the British car enthusiast that is looking for a great classic at an affordable price. The GT6's have become very collectible in recent years due to their low production numbers. The GT6 has been called a "Poor man's Jaguar" - The GT6 was designed in Italy byGiovanni Michelotti. It is fitted with the original 6 cylinder engine with a 4 speed transmission. Many Triumph enthusiasts consider 1970 as the best year.

Bid with confidence with my 100% positive feedback.

I had purchased this GT6 from a long time Triumph enthusiast from California where it spent it's entire life. The long term owner purchased it from his father that bought it brand new. As mentioned, it has never been restored and is a "Survivor" example. The previous owner used it as his daily driver and also during his college years at UC Santa Barbara. The original UCSB stickers are still on the car. After college a new job out of state meant that the GT6 would be staying in California in the family garage.

Mechanicallythe Triumph is in very good mechanical condition. It starts easily with the pull of the choke. It received a completely rebuilt transmission prior to being stored. There are very few miles on the transmission as well as the other new parts. Carbs were gone through by a Brit car specialist. The engine runs good and does not blow smoke out of the exhaust. Starter motor, alternator, cooling system, hydraulics all in good working order with no issues. The suspension is mostly original and would benefit from a refresh. Tires are old and should be replaced. Exhaust system is fine with no leaks or issues.

New parts:
Clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing.Trans was rebuilt which including some new syncro's.Flywheel was also resurfaced.Clutch MC & slave cylinder.Brake MC.Front brake hoses.

Thebody is in excellent original condition as shown in the pictures. The body has absolutely no rust and has never had any rust repair. The floors are all original and in excellent original condition with no issues. The same can be said about the frame. There is a dent on the left rear quarter panel that occurred in a parking lot many years ago. The dent did not damage the paint, so it is possible that a paintless dent removal would be able to repair it. The panel fit is excellent and the bonnet fits and closes nicely. Bumpers are in good original condition. All lenses are in good condition. Original rocker panels are in excellent condition as shown in the pictures.

Theinterioris in excellent condition as detailed in the pictures. The seats and door panels were redone many years ago and look very presentable. The dash is in good condition as shown in the pictures. All gauges are in working order. The headliner is in very good original condition. All electricals are in good working order. Lights, gauges etc.. Charging system is fine with no issues. Has a relatively new battery.

**License plate not included.
I do not have a "buy it now" price, but would consider ending the auction early for a serious offer.
