1954 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe
1954 Studebaker Champion
1954 Studebaker Starlight Champion Coupe. 6cyl 3sp manual (3 on-the-tree)
Beautiful color combo on this restoration or RestoMod project. This car is completely original with no modifications other than 12v conversion and repaint in original colors. Gauges move but may not be accurate. Two tone Paint: Shoshone Red and Sandusky Beige
170 cu.in. straight 6 rated at 85hp. Has great compression across all cylinders.
Purchased through original owners from Georgia.
6cyl runs great and trans shifts smoothly. Rebuilt carburetor - starts right up. Brakes are good but rear drums are pretty thin. This is a fully functioning and driving 69 years old classic. Bought this as a restoration/modification project and have decided to go a different direction. Odometer reads 80K mi. This may be original but unverifiable. TMU
Interior is clean and original - no rips or tears. Headliner is very clean. No carpets, only rubber mats on floor as was originally delivered. There is a minimal amount of rust inside of trunk but does not need replacement. The rest of the car is solid and rust free. Paint is ok. Some chips but no dents. Paint “drip” on hood from mechanics shop. Bummer but what you gonna do? Great from 20ft but very serviceable. Paint on roof is cracking and should be taken care of soon. Chrome is fair. Most rubber needs replacing. Absolutely brand new tires and restored hubcaps. Comes with re-chromed 1953 left and right grille and new door sill plates. All parts readily available from many sources and very inexpensive. Here is a great article on Hemmings Motor News:

Great project to drive as you restore or use for your RestoMod dreams. Remember - this is a 3 pedal. Easy conversion to 4sp floor shift. Very hard to find in this condition. I searched for a long while before I found one this nice and original.

Car is sold as-is. Please inspect prior to purchase if possible. This is a highly original 69 year old classic and needs continued love but very serviceable as is. Car is advertised locally and auction may end at anytime if reserve not met.
