And as much as we enjoy watching killer F1s parade through our doors, it's always nice to see a well-done second-generation car. Being an avid Camaro fan, you probably know finding a highly polished F2 isn't all that hard. But the chances of scoring a unique, fully-sorted pro-touring car seem almost as likely as purchasing a winning lotto ticket. Here at Custom Classics, we specialize in the unique and fully sorted and can offer you one-of-a-kind opportunities like this attractive, tastefully modified black beauty.Wrapping a LS1 in a slick beautiful shell like this one, with a tough 700 R4 automatic in custom upholstery, this super clean muscle car will ensure you enjoy miles of open road and plenty of high octane summers!BODYWORK/TRIMDuring its body-off, rotisserie restoration, this solid old panther was entirely disassembled and carefully stripped of its dull, original pigment. Once that prep was complete, an incredibly straight fuselage was augmented with fresh quarters and new outer wheel wells. As that massaged sheet metal featured better-than-factory alignment, a rich coat of black base was detailed with pearl white Stripes and sealed in glossy clear. When that clear dried, labor-intensive hours were spent buffing a spectacular shine. And today, one close look at our high-resolution photos reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one of the coolest Chevrolet LS1 muscle cars on the planet!Built to look old school but drive like a modern Corvette, this brazen coupe adds increased significance to the "working man's Ferrari" mentality that GM famously threaded into F2's development. At the front of the car, a Rally Sport valence centers a one-piece, grille between ornate parking lights, modern headlamps, a requisite chin spoiler and mirrored bumperettes. Behind that valance, a classy clean header leads the eye to a smooth, raised cowl hood, which fronts pristine, stainless-trimmed glass that's cleared by hidden, Rally Sport windshield wipers. At the sides of that hood, the car's clean fuselage centers polished door handles and body-matched mirrors between clean marker lamps, simple & clean with no emblems and laser straight rocker panels. And those mirrors reflect a tastefully modified deck spoiler. Above a bright bumper, you'll find polished exhaust pipes and 4 crisp clean taillights.ENGINEOne thing you won't have to worry about in this Chevy is power. Thanks to a surgically transplanted LS1, this sweet split-bumper defies any notion that it's just some pretty parking lot poseur. At the front of the all-aluminum mill, an aluminum-trimmed serpentine drive spins a fresh alternator and Vintage AC compressor behind a short Ram Air Intake. Once air enters that system's K&N cone, it flows through a factory-spec throttle body down over lightweight aluminum heads and GM-spec internals. High-octane fossils are provided by reliable electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through a custom wiring harness and pliable 7mm plug wires. Spent gases swirl through ceramic-coated shorty headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a beefy Be Cool radiator that's centered on dual SPAL puller fans. On the visual end of the spectrum, coils are perfectly aligned and complement the various shades of aluminum parts and help highlight the accents of red off the fuel rails. The conservative engine compartment seats body-matched fenders beneath factory hood supports, and niceties such as fluid lines, quality hoses, fluid reservoirs, a proven Wilwood master cylinder and a billet-cased trunk mounted battery add a tailored feel to quality assembly.DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONTake a gander under this cool F-Body and you'll find a fully detailed chassis that mixes new age technology with old-school durability. Thoroughly solid floor pans wear a clean coat of black and, save for hours of details, are every bit as nice as the car's first rate exterior. At the center of those floors, a proven 700 R4 transmission, makes excellent use of a Posi-traction differential, and 3.55 gears. Stopping is a cinch thanks to hydro-boosted Wilwood calipers and a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust is handled by large-diameter aluminized pipes, which wrap smooth Mandrel bends around chambered Flowmaster mufflers. At the front of the car, modern power rack-and-pinion steering complements beefy Strong Arms tubular control arms. At the back of the car, an adjustable Ride-Tech 4-link tubular arms. Torque melts the pavement thanks to Aluminum 17" custom Rally wheels, which spin 275/40ZR17 Nexen radials N3000's in the rear and in front 235/40R17. And, as you can tell by our high-resolution photos, not a detail was missed on this Chevy's fully-sorted undercarriage.INTERIOROpen the car's long doors and you'll find a customized interior that's stylish and very livable. In front of the thrones of racing seats, a dash hangs over a $1,000 worth of Dakota Digital gauge package telemetry over a Kenwood AM/FM CD player and Vintage Air climate control. At the bottom of that dash, a black console centers a long horseshoe shifter between fade-free carpet and black floor mats. Opposite that console, clean crisp door panels hang new factory hardware over stock looking armrests. Above those panels, a tight headliner flows to big rear Kenwood speakers, which are seated in a black package tray. Speaking of Rally Sport attire, the driver spins an Grant branded steering wheel around a tilting column. And passengers stow essentials in a clean & detailed trunk. Take a min to pull the trunk mat back and you'll find clean painted floors in GM semi-gloss black, no one's hiding anything here that's for sure! One of Detroit's best combinations of performance and style, early second generation Camaro's (especially power packed LS1 cars seen here) presents an excellent opportunity for savvy enthusiasts. And, because of their cool aesthetics, split-bumper cars are some of the most desirable F2s on the market. This fully sorted coupe, with its clean restoration and impressive drivetrain, is the kind of old school muscle that can make any enthusiast happy. Call your friends at Custom Classics and enjoy years of care-free cruising in this brilliant black beauty.Vehicle Details:
