1965 Other Makes Sunbeam Alpine
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1965 Sunbeam Alpine Series IV Convertible. The Alpine became famous in many films of the 60’s and was driven by legendary performers like Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Caine and Tuesday Weld. From James Bond films to the Get Smart television series, the Sunbeam Alpine played a series of co-starring roles.
This Alpine is nearly identical to the one driven by Secret Agent Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 in the hit TV series “Get Smart”. “But it was a Sunbeam Tiger” you say? Well, sometimes... Throughout the show's production, many Alpines were rebadged and used in various scenes. Apparently the machine guns wouldn’t retract and fit alongside a V8. Go figure.
We’ve brought this great little car up to modern standards while keeping its British motoring heritage alive and ready for the road once again. Whether you want a weekend cruiser, a club or show car or a vintage racer, this Alpine fills the spot nicely. It looks great and drives just as nice. Do check out the video.
Rarity
Produced in limited quantities from 1959 to 1968 The Sunbeam Alpine is a rare sight to see outside of a British car meet. This is a Series IV car with it’s trademark hardcover boot that completely hides the convertible top. West Coast car with no rust issues that are so common to cars from the east.
Exterior.
Freshly resprayed and correct to this car, Carnival Red two stage paint has been clear coated, color sanded and polished to a high luster. Minor body work was done and photo documented.
Wheels, Tires
Standard 13” wheels and tyres are in place. A set of 15” Minilite wheels and new Cooper CS3 tyres are available for $1700 including the minor fender roll needed for proper fitment.
Engine
1592 cc high revving British hotrod. She sports an upgraded and freshly rebuilt Weber carburetor, a big improvement over the standard Solex along with a Header pipe and nice Monza style exhaust. Freshly serviced radiator, new water pump, belts and hoses. Valve adjust. Alternator upgrade over generator. Runs excellent.
Transmission
4 Speed Manual transmission is smooth and responsive. No noises or unusual behavior.
Braking, Steering
Front disc brakes are excellent and operating properly. Steering is precise and on point. Fresh Alignment.
Battery

Trim
The chrome trim is in good shape. Some minor pitting and wear can be seen upon close observation, see pics.
Convertible Top
The Pinpoint convertible top has been completely rebuilt and reconditioned with new parts and fresh rubber weatherstripping throughout. You’ll enjoy a perfectly clear rear window and a dry interior. A tonneau cover is also included. See the pics.
Glass
The glass is in excellent condition. Windows operate properly
Interior
Freshly upholstered seats with Rootes Group logos and Carnival red piping to match the paintwork. Nice carpets, dash and door panels. Gauges and all lights, switches work properly.
Boot
Freshly trimmed out with new carpeting and trim panels
Audio
A new Bluetooth/USB capable radio with remote control has been installed and new speakers have been added. The standard mast antenna is in place. Supports hands free phone calls while driving. Iphone/Android compatible.
Odometer
The odometer shows 45659 miles and operates properly.

Many replacement parts are guaranteed by name brand supplies like NAPA auto parts, Sunbeam Specialties and Victoria British. A period Sunbeam Alpine operator's manual is included.
Comparables
There are several near comparable cars available for sale at this time. All have significant needs that have been addressed on this Alpine.
