If you’re looking for a mid-80’s cream puff that has been pampered and maintained its entire life, your search is over.The original owner wanted a fully loaded luxurious ride, and now’s your chance to make it yours.This car has the Cabriolet roof and classic front grill, both of which were dealer installed options.It has every option on it that was offered that year including sport steering wheel, memory drivers’ seat, tilt wheel, CB radio with AM/FM, cassette and equalizer, power side mirrors and cruise control. It even has a block heater!Add to that the other features of power windows, power locks, leather seats, air conditioning, Chapman Protector Package/anti-theft system, and four-wheel disc brakes and you can see that highly optioned is a great description of this car.

The Toronado has always represented luxury, style and technology for Oldsmobile.The 1979-1985 Toronado’s have become collectible, and many fans appreciate the simple fact that they are the last front-wheel drive Toronado’s to feature a traditional body-on-frame construction, while the appeal of their luxurious design can’t be denied.

My friend is the third owner, but full history of the car is known, so you won’t find any surprises here.This car spent its life in California, until my friend purchased the car and had it shipped to Georgia in 2018.So, it’s always been in dry, salt-free climates and boy does it show.

The exterior paint and panels display very nicely.The car was repainted by the original owner in 2012 and has been well cared for since then.In the bright sun, light swirl marks appear if you look close enough and there are a few minor chips in the paint, but the paint is highly presentable as is.There are no major dings, dents or blemishes on the body panels, and no evidence of rust.The body lines are straight, the doors hang as they should, and the trim and bumpers shine nicely. Two things that really pop on this car are the unique dealer installed front grill, and the Cabriolet top. All glass is in outstanding condition without any cracks. There is a tiny chip in the front windshield that must have been repaired at some point as it has never cracked and it’s been like that since my friend has owned the car.

Being garage kept its entire life has preserved the interior of this beauty.The interior displays nicely and is well preserved.The leather seats are luxurious and timeless.I personally prefer the timelessness of the leather interior to the dated velour interior you might see in other examples of this car.There are no rips or stains in the seats, carpet, headliner, or anywhere else on the interior.The rear interior map light/dome light proudly displays the Toronado badging near the opera windows are just a hoot.Everything works as expected on the dash, including all the digital gauges. A/C blows cold and all other gauges, lights, wipers, etc work as expected.The integrated A/C vents, and wood paneling on the doors, dash, and other trim instantly remind you of this car's premium appeal.Digital dash works great and is a blast from the past!

This Oldsmobile sports its original 307 (5 liter) V8 with 4-barrel carburetor.This is such a great motor with a smooth and torquey nature that would eventually be used throughout GM’s lineup including the Cadillac Brougham. The motor starts without hesitation,does not smoke at start up or any other time, and does not use a drop of oil between changes. The automatic transmission was professionally rebuilt in January 2019.
