If you've been looking for a 442,don't waste your money on a recreation, clone, tribute, or whatever fancy word they put on a rebadged Cutlass. This is a pretty rare find, with only 1300 built, how many original cars still exist?
I purchased this 442 from the Estate of the original owner. They purchased the car new in Washington State where they resided from 1971-2000...retiring to Michigan in the fall of that year. The 442 has been stored in a climate controlled garage since. I bought the car because it wasunbelievably original and solid.
Everything works on the car with the exception of the A/C...which was working fine and full of R-12...until Grandpa decided to do valve cover gaskets on the car and never reinstalled the compressor!
Car is rock solid, runs and drives great! One exhaust hangar is loose...so you'll need one of those.Perfect floors, trunk...quarters, ect. excellent door shell to door skin definition! Perfect trunk, rockers, ect.
A bit dirty from sitting, but ready to go. Valve job done, nylon timing gear replaced with steel, basically every gasket has been replaced, including the front pump/rear main...its a tight little car. Its not been used much in the past few years...driven half a dozen times a year and stored.
Interior is all original and shows great! Convertible top has a glass rear window and is in excellent shape. Even the carpet! I'm including amint Sport Steering wheel with horn cap, as well as set of Sandalwood Sport Mirrors.
This is a car you can drive to work all Summer long and take a second place trophy home with.
