1961 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 - Stageway Limousine
1961 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight
We bought this awesome car in 1990 with 28,000 original miles on it.My wife actually drove it daily in all but the winter months with a couple of car seats in the back.It is infinitely cooler than any minivan.
This mechanically sound 394 cubic inch motor now has just over 40,000 miles.
Stretched by Stageway - they added plenty of steel. I believe it has the original tranny, but the drive shaft was modified to include a center carrier bearing.
If you look carefully, you can see a dent under the molding on the driver's side-rear door. This is probably the biggest exterior flaw, except that the paint doesn't shine any more.It would look SHARP with fresh paint. It did make for a sweet rideto Prom with my kids andtheir dates.
Interior needs attention:carpet, interior door panels, front bench seat upholstery.Headliner looks good, kick panels and rear deckintact. There are additional photos (showing the good, the bad and the ugly - check them out at Old Cars Online (dot com) listing 852640.
This is a head-turner,perhaps one-of-a-kind.And size does matter.
