1954 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight
This car was inspired by the TV Series "Highway Patrol" starring Broderick Crawford as "Chief Dan Mathewsâ€.The dramatic series ran from 1955 to 1959 and was based upon the California Highway Patrol.In the first season Crawford drove a 1954 Oldsmobile similar to this one. Thru out the series he would drive several different cars but is better known for driving a 1955 Buick.

The Good
324 "Rocket" V8 runs great
Complete tune up including plugs, wires, cap & rotor and coil. Also distributor converted to reliable electronic ignition.
Oil and filter changed
Engine detailed and painted
New Edelbrock Carburetor
4 speed hydramatic automatic transmission
New Motor Mounts and Transmission Mounts
New Fuel gauge sending unit
Power brakes
Manual steering (AKA "Armstrong Steeringâ€)
5 new tires
New brakes including new wheel cylinders hardware & hoses
Refurbished radiator, new thermostat, hoses and belts
Rebuilt starter
New battery
Converted to single wire alternator
New seat belts
Most chrome re-plated and stainless straightened and polished as needed
All "Code 3" lights and siren work.
Has a period correct Police Radio (does not work)
Spring mounted whip antenna
Hand Cuffs and Suspect costumes for passengers. (Black and white stripe shirts and black hoodies)
The not so good...
Interior is original and in fair condition
Wipers do not work
Small rust holes in floor boards (Easy Repair)
This car is a hit at car shows and parades!!!
