Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very handsome 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88. Oldsmobile's 88 line got a complete redesign in 1954 which featured a more squared off body shape as well as wrap around windshields. The Super 88 was the mid level trim package which came standard with the 4 barrel 185 Horsepower variant of the 324 Rocket V8. This particular example features a recently rebuilt engine with only about 1,000 miles since. This one comes with the automatic transmission which shifts well. There were several body styles available, but this one is a "Holiday Coupe" which might be referred to as a two door hard top. There were 18 solid color and 18 two tone color combinations available in '54. This one has a very nice dark green/light green two tone. A sharp set of hub caps and wide white wall tires complete the look. The interior has been slightly changed with the addition of bucket seats and a custom center console. The doors panels, dashboard, and headliner still retain the stock appearance and are in wonderful condition. The car was restored in 2006 and nicely maintained since. It was originally a California car and is incredibly solid. The vehicle is road ready and certainly wouldn't be out of place at a local car show.
