1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible
In May, 1970 Dr. Robert Schloss, a surgeon from Fort Wayne, Indiana picked up his brand new 442 Convertible from Ben Davis Oldsmobile, in Fort Wayne...and was the talk of the small town.
Dr. Schloss kept his beloved 442 in the garage and only drove it on Sundays...(seriously). In about 1980, upon the death of his father, Dr. Schloss inherited a major telephone company and left the 442 parked in his garage, driving it sparingly.
In 2003, Schloss decided he wanted to use the car again so he sent the car out for a complete driveline reseal, and a complete strip and repaint in theoriginal color scheme. A new convertible top was fitted at that time.
In 2005, Dr. Schloss passed away, leaving the car to his wife, who kept the car stored in a carpeted, heated garage.
She decided to sell the car, and I purchased it. I would NEVER consider selling this car, but...I am buying a new airplane, and need to free up some money...or the wife says no the airplane!
The car is still on the original title! Reading delivery miles of 1. One driver since new. No sketchyownership history. #'s matching 365hp 455 and TH-400 trans.The interior is all original to the car.
The floors, frame, trunk,etc are completely rust free and have no patches, ect. The fenders are still original to the car.
Candidly, the car hasn't beenutilized much in the past 10 years, but runs and drives great, and really needs nothing.
This car is fully documented since day 1, selling paperwork, ect.
I am a avid Oldsmobile collector and know 442's better than most.
