1993 Mitsubishi Evolution I GSR
1993 Mitsubishi Evolution GSR
TL/DR: PRICE IS FIRM, Rebuilt title, ~119K, solid driving project. I have a 20 min YouTube video I can send.
-Bought from Copart 11/2/2023, very light damage in the rear. Mirage trunk, bumper, and it was able to pass inspection for a rebuilt title to be issued.(Have pre accident pictures or Google the VIN.)
-Car is VERY original, meaning doesn’t look like it’s been modified at all besides a boost gauge, I added the exhaust and still have the OEM one which is still in great shape.
-I did an oil change, trans, T-case, and diff fluid change, and it does look like it has had regular fluid changes.
-Parts I have replaced: Window regulators, Valve cover gasket, all exterior bulbs, pads & rotors all around, BC coilovers, steering rack boots, universal exhaust with HKS HiPower muffler, 17” wheels on new Falken Ziex ZE950 tires, both rear upper control arms, left inner/outer axle boots, knock sensor, Innovate MAP sensor for the boost gauge.
-Uninstalled parts that come with: Right inner/outer axle boots, New front Brembo conversion kit(Chevy Cobalt calipers/pads, Nissan rotors, banjo bolts) 4 to 5 lug adapters, 1G front 5 lug hubs, stock exhaust, damaged Evo trunk/bumper/bumper support, stock exhaust, new Innovate wideband sensor, front camber bolts, Energy Suspension diff carrier bushings
-What the car needs: Fix a clunk coming from the differential carrier(mustache bar) as the bushings are toast.
-With the car being as original as it is, I do have rear lower control arms, toe arms that go with as those bushings are on their way out too.
-It needs an alignment, I did a garage string alignment when I did the front suspension parts, and with some rear suspension parts needing to be replaced too, might as well wait.
-I’m sure if you drove the car through a car wash, you might get some water in the trunk. There’s some gasket material around the tail lights that has totally disintegrated, plus there’s a little misalignment of the tail lights from the accident damage. To get it 100%, you need Mitsubishi part number MB835992 rear panel, and you’d never be able to tell it was hit in the rear.
-Roof rust, common problem on all Evolution I, II, III, Mitsubishi used adhesive that retained water, rusts from the inside out. Roof skins and some cross bows are still available for the repair, figure about $2000 to get all the parts to your door to have a brand new roof, assuming you go that route.
-Valve cover was leaking from literally every spot so lots of oil on the sides of the engine. Blasted about a can of brake clean where I could get to, doesn’t seem to be any major leaks, but it’s a DSM, there’s bound to be others lol.
-Right side axle boot. Hasn’t ripped yet but since the left one did, I went ahead and bought the right ones too for when the time comes.(Not if lol.)
-It’s a VERY solid car despite its flaws and can totally be driven as you work on things. Reason I’m selling is my interest has moved on to a ’72 Chevelle and I’d like to focus more on my 300zx too.
-Did I mention the price is FIRM? No I don't want your raggedy Civic or G35, yes I will let you walk away over $100. I MIGHT consider a trade+cash for a not clapped Evo 8, but otherwise I just want to trade for your cash.(No I don't want your crypto either.) Not trying to be rude, just if your intent is to come and try and lowball/beat me up on price, let’s not waste each other’s time!
-I don’t mind the car sticking around, I do enjoy driving it, but also wouldn’t mind the garage space back. Out of state? Yes I’ll work with your carrier to have it loaded and shipped at your expense.(I’ve sold 4-5 cars to out of state buyers.)
-Did I mention the price is firm?
-Happy to take additional videos/pictures of whatever you want to see!
