1979 MG Midget

No Reserve auction. There is no title. Bill of Sale and current Rhode Island registration only. RI does not issue titles on classic vehicles.

The car is being sold as-is where-s for parts or repair. The battery is dead and the car is not running. It probably will start with fresh gas, starting fluid and a battery (or charge). The car ran and drove well when I bought it a couple years ago but it's been sitting a couple years. I started it this spring (started right up) but doesn't go into gear. I assume the gearbox is low (or out) of fluid since fluid leaks are typical.
The doors don't close correctly. The hinges need to repaired. I am not an expert but this looks like a major job that requires a body man or someone skilled with MGs.
I don’t know what it looks like underneath but it has rust throughout and needs extensive body work.
Top is in fair condition except the plastic windows have separated. Glass seems good. Tires are about a year old and have virtually no miles on them (only rolled on driveway and garage). The spare tire is new as well. Rims are rough but tires hold air fine. Seats have separations but reasonable and could be fixed.
***Please note: I accidentally broke the passenger side view mirror after the pictures were taken. Only the drivers side mirror is good. Passenger side mirror is no good.

I believe this is more of a parts car than restoration candidate at this point but you decide. Lots of usable parts.Not a lot of MG Midgets left. Here’s one for cheap.
