1978 MG MGB

It's time to say goodbye to an old friend, this car has been in my life since i was 12...
1978 MGB convertible.Bought new by my father in 78, garage kept and well maintained until he passed (title transferred from him, to my mother, to me). Was driven daily until about 1993, then he retired, rebuilt the engine and probably didn't put as many miles on it before his death in 2012, the car has been driven some since then, but has sat for the past year. The odometer shows 86,396, but i am sure that it has more miles than that. The paint is factory original with nicks from the car's being highway driven, early in dad's ownership (i'm told a few weeks), someone bumped his rear and bent the trunk, it was replaced with an original factory part. The car also has 2 fuel pumps with a switch, so if one fails there is another.
In general it is a solid car that needs some work. The main things are the carburetor which probably needs to be rebuilt, the car will start and run, but the first start of the day is a very hard start, then it runs smooth. The second main thing is that all the oil has leaked out of the gearbox so the car won't go in gear. The ignition lock is loose and the cylinder has to be put in and jiggled a bit to get the key to turn right. At some point the top was replaced, however the snaps don't exactly line up right, but it does keep the water out.
Includes the original tonneau cover, (I only remember it being used once) and the original cover that was meant to go over the top when it was down along with the cloth bag that they came in. There is a secondtonneaucover that i assume came with the replacement top, it also looks unused. Original jack, lug wrench and unused original front license plate mount (with instructions) are also included. I will also throw in any MG items that we can find around the garage.
