Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this spectacular early MGB pull-door handle Roadster finished in the rarest of factory color schemes. This California car from new was carefully restored by it's original owner in Fresno, California circa 1985 and was then sold into a private MG car collection in San Mateo in 1988. It remained there until discovered recently with 14 other MG's. It has just undergone a recent thorough recommissioning and runs/drives/looks absolutely superb.The body and paint on this car are quite exceptional. There's zero traces of rust or accidents and all the evidence that the car has lived indoors since new. The caring original owner provided a detailed list of his restoration work and parts list from Moss Motors circa 1984. The car, although in very decent original condition at that time, received a high quality bare-metal repaint in original black lacquer paintwork. All chromework/glass was removed, restored, and refitted with a new rubber kit. Today the car presents in nearly new condition cosmetically.The car's interior trim received the same treatment here. All new correct and high quality upholstery was purchased at Moss Motors including leather seat kits, panel kit, wool carpet kit, convertible Robbins soft top, etc. and professionally installed on the car. The car's signature metal dashboard was completely repainted and restored with show quality results.Mechanically, all systems were attended to including and engine detail and reseal, gearbox reseal with replaced 2nd gear syncro, clutch replaced, rear axle resealed, suspension cleaned and rebuilt with new front shocks, new U.J.'s, new exhaust system, complete cooling system and ignition system service, braking and clutch hydraulics, flexy lines, pads, shoes (all renewed recently). Original 14" wire wheels black powder coated, new tall radial tires and tubes fitted, new knock-offs. The car starts, runs, shifts, and drives wonderfully well and is a joy to navigate down the road.Overall, a truly mint condition, seldom available, early pull door handle MGB Roadster in a spectacular color scheme. This lovely California car has enjoyed an easy life indoors with a few caring owners, and has undergone an exacting restoration years ago. It has stood the test of time and still looks fantastic today.
