1972 MGB Mk 3 roadster in North Alabama
1972 MG MGB
Now at age 75, after many years of restoring old race cars, we have sold our main shop building, and it's time to sell off mostour accumulated stock of part, and many of our cars.
This'72 MGB ( built 12/1971)is for sale at the shop and elsewhere
and this listing may be cancelled at any time .
As usual, we will considerreasonable offers to end the listing at any time
Not many of these SOLIDB's are left in this condition for restoration, and this is a very good opportunity to acquire one of the very desirable 1972 Mk3 last of the chrome bumpermodels Please look the pictures over carefully, this car appears pretty complete and does not have large amounts of rust damage and holes in the floor, rockers, and trunk, like most of the cars offered.
Found stored indoors for the last couple years, after the water pump broke, causing the fan to demolish the radiator. A new water pump included, was not installed. It will need a radiator. Also, while it was in storage, the owner removed the gas tank and had it "cleaned' which caused many holes to open up, and he junked the tank, so it will need a new tank. The hood ornament is missing, also he told me the top is in poor condition and needs replacement.
Other than cracks in the dash, the car appears to be a great candidate for restoration...
We buffed just a small area in the hood, and the paint cleaned up well enoughfor a decent driver, but not show quality, of course. You could probably have a running driving car without too much time, and delay restoration.
There is no battery, but we put a shop battery in, and the motor cranks over as it should.
The owner was driving it when the water pump broke ( see pictures ) and he said it drove and shifted as it should. Seeing the quality of the other cars he owns, I believe that, but I can not guarantee.
VERY LOW reserve....
This is oneof several cars in the shop thatwe continue to work o, and if not sold, the price will change as work continues
