1969 Mercury Cougar

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at a very cool 1969 Mercury Cougar. This dry California Cougar is a long term 2 owner car. She is very original but carries some modern updates as well. Let’s check it out!

Rarity

Muscle cars from 1969 are drying up fast! Five decades down the road, finding a solid survivor can be tough. We purchased this Cougar from the 2nd California owner and commissioned a sympathetic restoration.

New for 1969 was the 351 V8 replacing the 302s and 289s of the previous years. More powerful and long known for its high nickel content, the 1969 / 1970 351 Windsor engine can be built to crazy HP. To the average classic driver, it means a strong, durable engine with great parts availability. To those who know, this is a great motor to build from here.

Exterior.

That new motor was wrapped in the sexiest Cougar sheet metal ever with long flowing lines and graceful quarters. She was the perfect Cougar. Not the boxy tomboy of 67 and 68 and not the bloated 71 and up couches. She looks ready for action all the time.

Finished in Glossy two stage Tuxedo Black. Excellent paint quality. Stacked clear has been hand color sanded to 5000 grit and then polished and ceramic coated. Her tight lines really shine from every angle.

• Aluminum radiator, shroud and 2 electric fans. Alloy expansion tank.

• Fresh tune, oil change, belts, hoses.

Transmission

• FMX Automatic transmission

Rear Differential

• Positraction 9 Inch Ford

Power disc brakes. New booster and master cylinder.

Interior

• Sport Wood Steering wheel

• Nice carpeting

• New seat upholstery with embroidered logo

• New headliner, package tray and sail panels

• Nice door panels and quarters. Driver side rear inner trim panel shows a repair

• Standard AM radio works intermittently.

Rust concerns - None. This is a solid, dry, local southern California car.

The California title is clean. No smog is required for California residents. California license plate.
