1954 Mercury Monterey Glass Top, Resto-Mod

1954 Mercury Monterey 2 door coupe with unusual plexi glass Sun Valley roof package. I purchased from estate not too long ago, so not too familiar with it. It was garaged but, was sitting for a few years. This is a solid original looking car for most part however, engine and trans are more modern 350 cid 2 barrel small block v-8, turbo 350 automatic transmission (GM). Installed by previous owner. Hence “Resto-mod”. Easy and economical to work on drive train, parts readily available, powerful and dependable. Manual steering and brakes. Drives quite well really. Probably needs tuned as it’s been several years since. I did recently have oil changed and carburetor gone through. Mercury looks great from 10 feet but, could use some cosmetic details (see photos) hood corners are bent (repairable) some scratches passenger upper fender, chip on deck lid. Chrome is overall decent and original, as is the stainless trim. Some pitting with age but, quite straight. Plexi roof has plenty of tiny bubbles, scratches imperfections from age but, solid, weather tight and still transparent. Interior nicely redone at some point but, not perfect. Presentable as the entire cars is. Some fit and finish can be improved over time. I have new moulding clips for it, new hood and trunk emblems, set of orig skirts and new rubber trunk liner not installed yet in trunk. Few other goodies. . Gas gauge, speedometer (not certain actual mileage), radio clock, blower not currently working but, Likely just needing hooked up. Headlights tail lights etc do work. Spare tire in trunk. Sold AS-IS no warranty, $500 deposit at end of listing, balance in full 3 business days. Pick up within 2 weeks. I can assist with your transporter on this end.
