Description:

1963 Mercury Comet

Drivetrain: Original 170 (compression checkeda few years ago was OK). Smokes from breather, will burn oil, but fires upeasily every time. Will overheat secondary to the radiator which needs to bereplaced. Brand new battery and tires (13S) Single barrel carb(newer).Generator rebuilt and no current issues. Fuel pump works fine. Gas tank(newer). Exhaust good (3 years ago). 2sp auto transmission shifts with slighthesitancy (at about 20mph). I ease up on gas pedal and it’ll shift. Ialso have a spare tranny. Brakes work. 4 drums. All gauges work. Car top endsat 50-55mph, not sure why, never looked into. Believe it has to do withperiodic lifter tightening (so I was told) that I never got to.

Body: Top in good shape (no tears), power andworks. White. Top will do a slight shift at last second and needs manualguiding to lock in place. Has all glass intact, but stiff to roll up, usuallykeep down as only drive on good days anyways. Dash / gauges nice. Chrome goodusual scratches, but straight. Body in good shape. Does have a few scratches. No dents. Painted 2017 (a Mazda dark blue, original color is Cascade Blue)looks great when sun hits it. Front seats poor (not original, from a 62), havethe storage piece that goes between front seats, back seat missing. Haveinterior pieces, but in very poor shape. Car in garage, in Connecticut on Massline. About 104Kish on odometer.

Have various extra parts - just don’t havetime to restore.
