Description:

1963 Mercury Marauder

I am the second and fourth owner of this beautiful 1963.5 Mercury Marauder. I bought the car from the original owner in 2010, he was a Mercury dealer in Nutley, NJ and had this Marauder as well as an identical convertible on the showroom floor, the dealership closed and he sold the Marauder to me. In 2015 I reluctantly sold the car, in 2018 I saw the car for sale in Hemmings and bought it back. The car now has 76000 original miles.
I had the original 390 bored and stroked to a 431, aluminum heads, 406 short cast headers, Thunderbird M code Tripower with matching Holley carbs built to show quality, 427 fuel pump and filter, dual Flowmaster exhaust, Flame Thrower distributor. Motor was professionally built and runs amazing with approx 500HP. The 1963 T-10 4 speed was completely gone through and has a Hurst short throw shifter. New flywheel and clutch. Big nine inch differential with 31 spline axles.
While the motor was being built I replaced any worn suspension and rebuilt the entire braking system. New KYB shocks. Tires are brand new 275 60 15 rear & 235 70 15 front. The car rides wonderfully with no noises or rattles, very tight car, the doors shut with one finger. This car will cruise in modern traffic without issue.
The body of this beauty is 100% rust free and has always been garaged. Floors, frame and trunk are as rust free as you will find. The Jamaica Yellow paint on this car is mostly original, I had the deck lid and tops of doors and quarters and rockers painted, I only painted the rockers because of stone chips, there was absolutely zero rust. The original black interior looks amazing, no rips or tears. Dash chrome is excellent, dash pad has no cracks and everything works as it should. Headliner is excellent.
This 1963.5 Mercury Marauder Fastback is a very rare car, especially in this condition. this one is ready to go and checks all the boxes.
