Description:
1968 Mercury Cougar standard
Very decent 1968 Cougar from Alabama. NO RUST in the quarter panels, doors fenders, hood, rockers. There is some very minor rust in the flat piece of the trunk floor, the inside bottom of the trunk lid, under the battery tray, and on the front passenger side floor pan. The front fenders were replaced with 1967 fenders which are identical except for not having the big turn signals cut into them. The glass is all good. The black interior is pretty decent. The rear seat is nice, the console is nice, the door panels and kick panels are nice. The headliner is ripped and the front bucket seats appear to be out of a 1969 Cougar but are pretty decent. The car I believe was originally Jamaican Yellow with black interior and factory air conditioning. The AC compressor is not on the car now.The 302 V8 was said to have been rebuilt and looks like it but I've owned it (and way too many other cars) for about ten years and never once tried to start it or work on it at all other than replacing the horrible 1980's aftermarket wheels with a new set of American Racing Torque Thrust D's in 15x7 and 15x8.5 with new tires (About $1500). The car is complete but will need cosmetic and some mechanical restoration. You can NOT drive it home unless your route is entirely downhill and you don't need brakes. Please note, I bought this car from Alabama, a state that did not issue titles on cars older than 1975, so I got only an Alabama bill of sale and then a clean police inspection on the VIN. The car will be sold with the same.So no, you can't drive it home, and no you don't get a title but you do get a bill of sale and police proof that it's not stolen or owned by anyone else. The car is priced accordingly with no reserve.Rare chance to get one of the coolest muscle cars of the 1960's that doesn't have rusted out quarter panels, rockers and other parts you can't buy for it.I can store the car for up to two weeks and arrange additional enclosed storage after that for $120/month down the street if you need it.Vehicle Details:
