Description:

1964 Mercury Marauder Park Lane

When was the last time that you've seen one? In my 11 years living in the Metro Detroit area with some of the worlds best and largest classic car shows and cruises I have NEVER seen another original 4 speed Marauder. I'm sure there's more but if you're looking at this car you'll know how rare it is.
This is the car that was advertised to win the Pike's Peak race back in 1964!
Some 4 speed Marauders have bench seats but not this one ... it is an original bucket seat and console car! Rare and sporty ...
In addition, of all the original color combinations that you could ask for this one is by far the best and most valuable in the resell market (if that day comes that you decide to sell) ... black over black. The car looks great even now with it's original black paint on it. Of course the paint is weathered and while it can be used as is I for one would want it repainted.
I purchased from the 2nd owner and unfortunately the guy who was supposed to do the body work for me bagged out and I'm in the process of a frame off on a '66 Grand Prix (4 speed 421 tripower car) so this one's got to go. I would love to keep it but it's just not in the cards at this time in my life so with sadness I am selling this rare full size 4 speed car ... full size 4 speed cars are my favorite by far.
Mileage: Odometer reading is in the ad but I'm certain that it has gone around past 100,000 miles and I am NOT representing this car as having 37,000 original miles.
Good:4 speedz code 390black over blackconsoleruns and drives as it sitspassenger seat excellentrear seat mintglass minthas complete moldings, etc. Nothing missing. Use as is or restore as you desire.
Bad:- I wouldn't put the car on the road without going through the brakes and all the engine seals. It's been driven sparingly for the past decade or so and if I was to drive it regularly I would want to know that mechanically it's all buttoned up.- Ripped front driver's seat but comes with an NOS seat bottom to replace it!rear package tray should be replaced- Most of trunk floor is super solid but has surface rust that needs to be cleaned up and then coated with something like POR-15 so rust will never be an issue again in the trunk.- Obviously, the paint is worn and weathered but it's original so what you see is what you get and that's always great when it comes to these old cars. You don't have to dig through layer after layer to find out what you have (I had the same situation on my '66 GP and it was awesome to know in advance what work was necessary ... no surprises)
Ugly:- Needs lower rear quarter patch (excellent rust free original metal comes with car)- Needs one patch on each of the trunk corners where the body mounts are. The body mounts are there and in good condition ... just needs the floor patches ... the pics should show this.- Needs driver's floor patched/replaced (rust free replacement pans come with the car)
Add On:If the purchaser desires, there are a bunch of parts that come with the car. The previous owner purchased another '64 2 door car and took it apart for good extras. Comes with aforementioned NOS seat panel, lower driver qtr metal, floor pans. It has many other parts including moldings, bumpers, doors, driveshaft, dash, and a bunch of other parts. I can get a complete list if you want. They are yours if you want. If not, I'll spend the time to catalog, take pix, and sell them online. My guess is, from looking at ebay ads that actually have "sold" that these parts will fetch more than $3,000 if you want to sell them.
I've tried to be forthright, honest, and detailed. I want you to be as happy owning this rare full size muscle car as I would be restoring and driving it if I hadn't already had my '66 GP (as well as a '70 GTO Convertible and 2010 Challenger).
