1968 Mercury Montego MX

Selling my extremely nice 1968 Mercury Montego MX coupe. Many rare options including power windows,power disc brakes,chrome style steel wheels,intermittent wipers and more. See the attached Marti report. Rare J code 302-4V. 69,400 miles from new. Spent most of its life in Kentucky. Has been in MA for 12 years and garaged and only driven in good weather. Have original invoice from selling dealer and some other documentation. This car is totally rust free and retains all its original sheet metal. Inside the trunk looks like it was built last year. All original floors and torque boxes are original and rust free. I would call this car 80% restored and 20% original. The lime frost paint was redone professionally in base/ clear 10 years ago and is super nice. There are no bubbles around the bottom edges at all. The interior was just restored including new carpet, sill plates, kick panels, and a new head liner done to original and all new weather stripping for doors, truck and roof rails. Very nice, crack free dash and door panels. New rear package shelf. Front and rear seats are original and in nice condition. All new seat belts. Many other new parts including fuel tank and sender. All new rubber trunk mat, new chrome door handles and a new remote mirror. The chrome bumpers are original and straight. The finish on the rear is somewhat faded. The 302-4V engine runs strong and quiet. No noises, no smoke, no leaks. It has duel exhaust with stock mufflers. The automatic C-4 transmission shifts well with no issues. There is a brand new correct Autolite. 4 barrel carb replacement. This has factory air conditioning. All components are there and the compressor clutch turns freely. Has not been charged and does not blow cold currently. Original AM radio with front and rear speakers work. Gas gauge works. Wipers currently not working and will need a switch. Power windows all working with replacement motors. Rears can be slow at times. The vinyl roof is in good condition. There are a couple crows feet cracks under the rear window. A bundle of money has been spent on the fine Montego. Summing up its totally rust are with beautiful paint and lovely interior, A car you can drive and enjoy now, with many rare options. Has 4 nice meaty 225 -70-14 Goodrich radial T/A s. Probably have 5000 miles. Also has Ford script radiator hoses. This car is price to sell. Call Geoff @ 508-498-5789 with any questions.
