1963 Mercury Comet S-22

It is with great regret that I am selling my 1963 Mercury Comet S-22 V8 Convertible.
This California Car - transferred by the previous owner to Texas - is one of only 5,757 ever made!
It's V8 with 260cu (4.3L) yields 164hp (122kW / 166PS - SAE gross) and preferably runs premium gas through it's 2-barrel carburettor, providing 350 Nm / 258 lb-ft torque.
The car is rust free. A panels are original, including the ones under the car. The beautiful carnival red exterior had a repaint in late 2015. There a couple of dings and dongs: one at the passenger door and two at the boot hatch. Please check the photos for details.
The red leather interior is in very good condition, as is the white convertible top, including the rear view window. All folds up and closes nicely, and the red cover convertible fully closes.
I drove the Comet through death valley as well as up the Colorado mountains. It always performed great. The retro fitted A/C is of course a bonus in the Texas heat.
The car runs smooth and the fuel consumption can be kept around 12l-14l / 100km on overland roadtrips ( 23.54-20.18 mpg(imp) / 19.6-16.8 mpg(US) ).
More work I had done this year was a new starter, new strut rod bushings, new rear brake drums and shoes, new emergency brake cable, a new battery, front wheel alignment including two new front tyres.
Further checks were carried out on the differential, the transition, the a/c, and the carburettor got checked and tuned.
The car has a valid road worthy certificate.
