Now that the W113 230/250/280SL's have become priced out of sight, here comes the 560SL.

In the 560SL, Mercedes got it all just right, offering essentially bullet-proof reliability, satisfying power, and aggressive good looks. The 560SL combined all that Mercedes learned about the V-8 W107 chassis cars into a cultural icon that quietly and confidently told the world its occupants had "arrived." Simplicity, superb build quality, and an enduring design are all hallmarks of the Mercedes 560SL. The 560SL was the culmination in the United States of what Mercedes-Benz internally referred to as the R107 chassis, a model run that lasted for 18 years, beginning in 1972 with the US introduction of the 350SL. The R107 chassis was one of the longest running production bodies in the Diamler-Benz AG's line, and R107s are extremely well built and collectable. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart, Germany factory.

Now over 35 years old, 560SL’s are attracting new buyers due to its iconic good looks, simplicity, and vault-like build quality.

About the car:

This SL has been sitting for the last couple of years. Before it was parked, it was running and driving, and the previous owner used it as his weekend driver before he started experiencing some health issues.

It is all original and complete, engine spins freely and WILL START on starting fluid (please see the video below)

With some fuel system work, fresh gas, fresh fluids, it should not take much to have this roadster back on the road.

This beauty comes in a very desirable and elegant Astral Silver Metallic paint (color code #735 astralsilber) over Medium Red leather interior!! The paint is original and faded, so fresh repaint would make this car pop again.

Body is very nice and solid, as well as the undercarriage, which is all original, and unmolested and most importantly it is rust free!!

All body panels (doors, hood, trunk lid, fenders, front and rear bumpers) have its Original VIN Number stickers, showing originality of this car. Original VIN Number stamping is also present in the front radiator support.

Original leather interior is all complete. Seats are very comfortable, but leather is showing its age, and seats will have to be reupholstered.

This SL comes with both Hard Top and Soft top. Hard top is in pretty good condition, and all glass is nice and complete. Soft top canvas is good, and soft top operates with ease. Rear vinyl windows are cloudy.

Original books and manuals as well as the original DATA card come with the car.

All in all this is a very nice, complete and original 560SL that will make a straightforward and fun project, and great return on your investment!!! Best thing is that the prices of 560SL’s started to sky rocket in the last few years, and finding a good, solid car for a good price is becoming a harder and harder task
