As recently as the mid 1990's, nd early 2000’s you could pick up a nice condition 1971 280SL Pagoda Roadster for around $20,000. Almost in the blink of an eye, hat's what a basket case now goes for - with good condition examples regularly selling north of $75k and more. There are good reasons for this: scarcity, imited production, nd a demographic generational shift that shows the 50's and 60's muscle car prices have peaked andthe next generation is after the desirable cars they remember - which mostly came from Germany in the 70's, 0's and early 1990's.

In the 560SL, ercedes got it all just right, ffering essentially bullet-proof reliability, atisfying power, nd aggressive good looks. The 560SL combined all that Mercedes learned about the V-8 W107 chassis cars into a cultural icon that quietly and confidently told the world its occupants had "arrived." Simplicity, uperb build quality, nd an enduring design are all hallmarks of the Mercedes 560SL. The 560SL was the culmination in the United States of what Mercedes-Benz internally referred to as the R107 chassis, model run that lasted for 18 years, eginning in 1972 with the US introduction of the 350SL. The R107 chassis was one of the longest running production bodies in the Diamler-Benz AG's line, nd R107s are extremely well built and collectable. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart, ermany factory.

Now over 20 years old, 60SL’s are attracting new buyers due to its iconic good looks, implicity, nd vault-like build quality.

This SL was sitting in the storage for the past few years. Before it was parked into the storage, t was used as a daily driver. Engine starts up, nd the car runs, ut before any serious driving is done, une up, resh fluids, nd going through things is in order. (Please see the video of engine starting up and running below!!!)

This beauty came in a very rare and elegant Pearl Gray Metallic paint (color code #122 perlmattgrau) over gray leather interior!! Fresh repaint would make this car look stunning again, s paint is showing its age, nd it is oxidized on the rear end of the car (trunk, op of the doors and rear fenders).

Body is nice and solid, s well as the undercarriage, hich is all original, nd unmolested and most importantly it is rust free!! This was Florida car its whole life, xplaining its Rust Free condition!

Original Interior is all there and for 28 year old car, t’s in pretty good condition and its nicely presentable. Original seats are in good condition, nd are covered with the Sheep Skin Covers…Leather shows some signs of age and wear, ut structurally seats are supportive and comfortable.

This SL comes with both Hard Top and Soft top. Hard top is in pretty good condition, nd all glass is nice and complete. Soft top looks good, nd canvas is still in good useable condition.

All 4 matching Michelin tires are in excellent condition with plenty of tread left.

Original books and manuals, ncluding the original window sticker, nd original DATA card are all present!!!

All in all this is a very nice and complete 560SL that can make a very nice and fun project, nd great return on your investment!!!
