Description:

1989 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I've been working on W124s for 20 years, and this spring I'm selling four of my W124s and one of my W123s.
This is a Mercedes 1989 300TE wagon. Pearl Grey with black cloth manual interior.

I bought the car in 2012, it was originally from North Carolina. Which means little to no rust (this is probably the least rusty wagon I've owned in 20 years), but the clear coat is in poor shape.

Over the years I have continually upgraded this wagon. It has a 5 speed manual conversion. All Mercedes parts. 228mm single mass flywheel, it had new clutch parts when I did the swap. The driveshaft I sourced in Germany from a 300TE. The transmission I had on hand, it is a Mercedes rebuilt unit. 5 speed with overdrive. Car retains it's original 3.27 rear differential. I rebuilt the shifter with new bushings etc.

The interior is black cloth (originally blue MB Tex) from a Euro wagon, with manual adjusted seats, appropriate door cards and crank windows. I replaced the dash with a later crack free example. At the same time I serviced all the HVAC pods. The wood is crack free and the console wood is a refinished piece appropriate for a crank window car. No wear on the drivers seat. The steering column is electrically adjustable.

It has sportline front and rear stiffer shorter springs, a sportline front sway bar, and a 500E rear sway bar (with the appropriate linkage), the rear bar is considerably larger than standard. The front shocks are 500E shocks. The rear SLS struts and accumulators I replaced at some point along with the SLS steering pump. I also replaced the steering box. I think it's a sportline steering box, but can't swear to it being so.
I've done a great deal to the car mechanically over the years, front ball joints, rear lower hub bushings, most of the fuel injection. Tailgate struts, alternator, water pump, radiator, coolant reservoir, washer fluid bottle.

It has the CLK lightweight 16" wheels and nice continental tires.

I recently re-sealed the front engine cover and added a new valve cover gasket. The engine is quiet at idle. I also replaced the spark plugs, cap and rotor. It has beru plug wires.

It has the black load cargo cover and dog guard in the rear, also has the Mercedes ski rack and luggage basket, also a continental bluetooth radio.
Comes with the original owners manuals, two keys, and two stamped service books going back to when the car was delivered new.
For anyone interested I also have some other interesting parts I could sell along with the wagon. I have a roof storage box, a complete 3rd row seat in black MB tex, a W124 wagon trailer hitch, a spare early W124 wagon bumper (to use with the hitch), Bosch Euro glass headlights, 400E front and rear brakes (that will fit under the clk wheels) plus a 400E double sized brake booster and a set of stock 15" wheels and winter tires.
I would drive this car anywhere, without hesitation.
As great as this car is, it's still a used car, and a 35 year old car at that, so it is for sale as-is where is without any type of warranty, because Connecticut does not issue a title for cars over 20 years old it is sold with a bill of sale, registration and an assignment of title form.
