You are looking at a one only ever produced work of art Mercedes 450SLC convertible.
This is the Mercedes that Mercedes "forgot" to build for more than 20 years.
Mercedes lovers will know that ending the family convertible C111 in 1971, it took them up to 1992 with the C124to produce a 4-5 seater cabriolet.
So many Mercedes lovers wanting convertible and having a family had to solve with coach builders. We know the 450SLCconvertibles (some better than others) with the Beetle style soft top on the trunk. Idem some SEC with chopped heads.NONE of them how Mercedes would have done it, except for this one.
Niko-Michael coach works used the trunk lid of the SL, the gas tank, the closing couver and more to completely stay in the Mercedes design. Altough different from the shorter SL, the elegance of the original has stayed in this design.
The car was recently (under) valued at 115.000,- Euros by a professional company.I say under-valued because there is NO reference.The company had to base their quote on a recent sale of an original 450SLC with approximatly the same Milage.
At the time, this conversion was 2 times the price of the car...
The car is well documented, not from the start, but I do have the contact of the first owner that I will gladly share with the buyer.
