Here you found my 1982 Mercedes 300CD turbo diesel coupe. Mercedes only built 8007 of these gorgeous cars and 1982 was the first year they introduced the turbo for the 2 door model. They already had a reputation for being economical and extremely reliable. Now they also had plenty of power for a much more fun driving experience. This particular car was finished in Champagne (MB color code 473) with this very rare Henna Red (MB color code 157) MB-tex interior. It is a very elegant and unusual color combination and i have not seen another one like it. Most of the time these car came with beige interiors. I do get thumbs up every time i drive it, as this car really stands out from the crowd. The body and the paint are still in wonderful condition for a 41 year old car. The paint still has a great shine to it. There is no rust or clear coat issues and it only shows very minor scratches.This car has been garaged most of it's life and it really made a difference. The interior is still in great shape. The carpets are clean and even the wood accents are stunning. The seats are still firm and only show minor wear as the many pictures will show.The best thing about this car is the way it drives. Just last month i went on a 1400 miles drive, after it has not been driven very much for the last several years. It performed like a star. Constantly cruising between 75-90 mph while still averaging 26mpg of diesel. This car has plenty of power and shifts smoothly through all the gears. After getting back home i had our mechanic go through the car. He did a service with fluids and filters, changed the glow plugs, adjusted the valves and addressed a small leak. All the power windows, door locks and power sunroof work the way they should. It always starts up right away and is truly a pleasure to drive. I would prefer to sell this car locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it / test drive it. But i would also be willing to assist in shipping arrangements for any out of town winning bidders. Please have your funding in order and do all your "due diligence" BEFORE placing a bid. This is a wonderful and well taken care off classic Mercedes and it will be sold WITHOUT a warranty. I am located in West Los Angeles and can show this car throughout the auction.
