Up for sale is a very nice and well maintained 230SL Mercedes-Benz in Mercedes Cream with Saddle leather interior. This little Mercedes has been owned by this owner for 42 years and only has had 57,321 Kilometers or 35,617 miles put on the car. This car is a true European model imported by a US Army officer and delivered to Tucson Arizona at Fort Bragg. Tucson is where my doctor friend bought the car in 1980 and then drove it back to Idaho where it has lived ever since. The car has had a cosmetic restoration with new paint by professional shop 15 years ago. At that time some minor rust was replaced with new material when the paint work was done. (You can see a spot on the driver's side inner fender panel under the hood pictured) Only rust was in the front inner fender panels, the rest of the car had no rust. At the same time, the original bumpers were re-chromed as was several other chrome parts on the car. A new grill, headlight trim rings and taillights were also added at that time. A new Hearts soft top in dark brown was installed after the paint work was finished as was new leather seats and new carpeting on the inside. The rest of the interior is its original, even the original European gages are bright, also all gages work as they should. and look great even the interior wood is very nice. The original 2306 cc 2.3 L fuel ejected Six-cylinder engine starts easy and runs strong. It has a new Mercedes muffler and is quiet. The 4-speed transmission was rebuilt about 20 years ago and new clutch was also added at this time, shifts nicely. (Only about 1000 miles have been put on the car after all this. The car has Power brakes, Power steering and the front end was rebuilt with new bushings, Tyrod ends, and any other parts as needed. New front brakes were just installed with new calipers and pads. This car drives exceptionally nice. All lights work well, and the original brown hard top adds a nice contrast to the car's color combination when one the car. P.S. The doctor said hasn't washed the car with water for over 20 years. He just wipes it down with a duster, and again he has only driven it about 1000 miles in the last 20 years. His maintenances Reckord book and car cover comes with the car. I'm listing this beautiful little Mercedes-Benz for my doctor friend and will take all questions to him.
