On November 14th 1985 Mr. Robert Goodson – a downtown Opelika jewelry store merchant – traded in his 1976 450SL for this 1985 model. It was kept garaged most of its life. I am the 3rd local owner since Mr. Goodson.
A leather binder chronicling the service history and repairs is included to document its well-kept life. The window sticker and sales invoice are included in the photos of this low-mile original.
Major repairs are as follows with receipts: 2001 – New fuel tank, valve cover gaskets 2018 – New tie rod ends 2019 – New AC compressor 2021 – Complete service, New Alternator, Tires, muffler & resonator, Car cover is also included.
This model R107 was Mercedes longest production runs – and most successful – Painted in Astral Silver metallic with Burgundy interior with Black soft top and removable hard top - this car features a 3.8L light alloy overhead cam V8 with CIS fuel injection. 4 speed automatic transmission, 4-wheel disc brakes, fog lamps, first aid kit, tool kit –and owners manuals, --1985 was the first year of dual timing chains – the best year for R107’s.
