1986 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE --
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300SE for your consideration. 1986 European Version Mercedes Benz. Champaign exterior with Beige Leather interior. European 2.6 straight six-cylinder engine. Two keys & owner's manual (actually two; one is in German!). Limited paperwork from the Previous Owner. The car was manufactured for the European market: has "short" bumpers front & rear; unique manually-operated back windows with power front windows. Full leather interior in mint condition; wood grain in mint condition... also. No rust (spent time in Florida, apparently away from salt). Unique European hubcaps. Simple heat controls only found in Euro models. Power driver seat; manual passenger seat. Euro radio. Spare tire never on the road; jack never used. This car was kept in dry storage and driven only on dry days in summer & fall. The car drives nicely with Cruise Control working properly while on the expressway. Car starts & idles, goes into gear (forward & reverse) as it should and shifts properly. Stops properly. New tires; new rear brake pads (front are well within wear limits), oil & filter changed. Radiator flushed and fluid replaced with proper HOAT radiator fluid. Transmission fluid changed (no filter). No leaks. No dash warning lights. New spark plugs. Power steering fluid changed. Rear differential properly drained and oil changed. Sunroof works properly. Instrument panel lights up properly & warning flashers work. Wiper blades replaced. Very important: speedometer & trip odometer work properly, reflecting original miles on the car. Please call or email us today for more information. The 300SE is an S-Class of the W126 range (1980-1991), a car that many enthusiasts regard as the last of the classic 'over-engineered' Mercedes. Being a 1986 model, it is the first year of the updated Series 2 model, which featured improved engines. It does not have the interior upgrade, as that did not happen until 1988. The 300SE was the entry-level S class in most markets (including Australia), with the 260SE mostly focused on markets with punitive taxes for engines over 2.8l.
