1980 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Wagon

Restoration candidate. This was a Euro delivery wagon purchased by a US Serviceman, shipped to the US and eventually sold to a local gentleman who passed it down to his son. At 183K miles they parked it and it sat for 10 years in a carport prior to my purchase. This is the 2.8 gas motor, the largest at the time and considered the 'sport' wagon. Car is not running. I purchased a new battery, but haven't drained old fuel or cleaned the system. I simply ran out of energy to tackle this one after 4 other wagon projects. The car has an excellent undercarriage with minimal rust for a wagon of this vintage. It does have surface rust and rust in various places around emblems and the sunroof. But it's very repairable.
The good:- rust is manageable- Excellent dash (these are hard to find and $500 in this condition)- Euro rear bumper- Appears to be all original glass- Most horsepower available for one of these wagons- Engine oil looks good, motor turns
The bad- will need work to make roadworthy and lots to be a full restoration candidate.
I have some rare and special items I'd sell in addition to the car such as a nice set of euro bumpers, two sets of second row headrests (for third row seat safety), a full third (rear) seat with seatbelts, interior panels, etc., roof rack cross bars. All of these items are in the $250-500 range typically, but I'll discount if sold in conjunction with the car. Also have five additional wheels that are good resto candidates or might even clean up nicely.
Car is sold AS-IS. No warranty. It is a non-running resto candidate that is too nice to part out. Want it to go to a good home. Very fair starting price and no reserve after. Car located in Atlanta, GA area and I'll work with the shipper of your choice, at your cost, to get it to you safe and sound. Thanks
