1976 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

I am listing this for a friend of mine. I have personally inspected and driven the car. I took the pictures as well.
This 1976 SLC has been in the same family since 1985 and has always been a local car. The present owner is the son of the second owner who purchased the car from the original owner in 1985. The original owner bought it new from McLoughlin Motors which was an independent Mercedes dealer here in Rome NY. There is very little in the way of owners records and service records. It was in long term storage until 2014 when the present owner acquired it from his father.

the present owner has driven the car about 3,000 miles since the service was performed in 2014.
I drove the car and it drives very well, pulls strong, shifts through the gears nicely, brakes evenly and smoothly. Everything works windows, locks power antenna and even the original Becker radio. A/C works but has not been converted to r-134.
cruise control does not set, however it does accelerate when lever is activated. When using turn signals you have to hold stalk in position.
The alloy wheels could stand to be refinished. The exhaust is original, no leaks but could stand to be replaced. Glass is all good. chrome on rear deck lid finger lift is pitted. There are 2 small dents on top of the left and right fenders, they are small. Owner had portions of the car repainted; hood, roof and rear deck in June of 2014. Nice quality and well blended. Engine compartment could use detailing.
