This 1985 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 exemplified the commonly used term "rare find".
The vehicle was purchased new in 1985 by a highly decorated researcher and physician who was also the health editor for an well known international news publication and the former President of the American Red Cross. The original owner used this vehicle for commuting 6 miles a day to work from 1985-2000, nd then transported the car to Naples Florida as it was used as her winter use car at her summer residence. The vehicle was maintained by Mercedes Benz of Naples and Schellers Foreign Car Service from 2000-2012 and years of service receipts have been maintained with the vehicle. The second owner of this fine vehicle is an active MBCA member and collector who took ownership of the vehicle in 2014. He had a ceremonious unveiling of his "like new " 1985 Mercedes Benz 190E at a MBCA Event and the vehicle was featured on the cover of the Sunshine Star Magazine in 7/2014 and an accompanying 2 page article written on this remarkable find. In 2014 the vehicle had a major service completed at Benztech Corp of Bonita Florida which included:
Tune up
Fuel filter
Transmission service
Motor and transmission mounts
Complete AC service
New BF Goodrich ties
Needless to say the car is in exceptional mechanical condition and runs and drives like new. All of the vehicle power options function 100% and the AC blows ice cold.
Nautical Blue is in my honest opinion the most stunning color ever produced by Mercedes Benz.
The gorgeous gray MB Tex interior with near flawless Zebrano wood inlays make for an absolutely stunning color combination.
The interior is amazingly well preserved.
The vehicles engine bay and undercarriage is exceptionally clean and still wears its original decals and factory markings.
The OEM wheels benefited from dust shield and still show beautifully with no brake dust etching inside of the vents.
The original spare tire has never touched the ground, nd the vehicle comes with a beautiful set of period correct cocoa mats.
Original unused first aid kit is also present.
Original Becker Stereo sounds great and power antenna functions 100%.
This is a very rare car to find in this condition.
