1959 Mercedes 219
1959 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series
I bought the carfrom the original owner about threeyears ago after he passed away. He was the owner of a classic Mercedes shop and they started a restoration on the "family car" several years ago. I bought the car with the intention of finishing the restoration, owever I have really never touched the car - here what I know:
Body:
Body was completed, nd there is zero rust on the car. when I look in the wheel wells and underbody, t does not appear that this car ever had any majorrust issues. Was repainted several years ago and looks really good, owever for a show car it would require some touchup on the few spot on the doors (from sitting)
All glass is included, ut will need to be installed with new seals
Have the trim and, rills, nd lights
New Bosch fog lights NIB
Mechanical
Engine was rebuilt - bottom end and cylinder head has been assembled (engine stand included in the sale)
new pistons, camshaft, ockers and NOS Bosch distributor
I was told the transmission was also rebuilt
Rebuilt radiator
Interior:
Red leather interior is new and very nice
Instrument cluster was rebuilt and restored
New chrome horn ring
Other
Has a new OEM Mercedes electrical harness installed
New OEM Bosch horns
I have a parts manual with schematics and diagrams
Clear Title
What Needed:
Cannot find the bumpers, as tank and radio Clearly a lot of money was spent on the car, ut still needs to be finished. While I have boxes of parts, have not inventoried down to the nut and bolt, o assume there are some missing parts
