Description:

1980 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II Convertible

This is the get it before Spring extravaganza!
This vehicle was purchased from Japan back in November, After traveling nearly 10,000 miles and waiting many months the paperwork is cleared in the state of North Carolina and the vehicle is ready to be transferred to it's new owner.
There are no warranties expressed or implied, this is a 30 year old vehicle, it is sold as a classic collectible.
Since purchasing the RX-7 I drove it home over 300 miles from Baltimore without any issues whatsoever and drove it around town on trips up to 80 miles.
This is a 1989 Mazda RX-7 Convertible it's right hand drive (yep steering wheel is on the opposite side) with the Turbo II motor installed from the factory. It has an automatic transmission. For those apprehensive about a RHD vehicle this makes it a little easier to learn driving on the opposite side.
The car has about 93,000 miles
I installed a JVC media player that has hand free phone as well since the Japanese installed Kenwood did not pick up US radio stations.
Since purchasing the Mazda it has been run with premix fuel in order to properly lubricate the engine. It drives fine, tracks straight and I had it up to 100kph with no issues, yes the speedo is in KPH and not MPH. It takes a while getting used to, I just use a GPS for a speedo. It's a fun car, the power electric top works as it should as and heat for as well. The power windows are slow when used at the same time buy work fine one at a time.
Here is a list of some of the installed things on the RX7
  • Apexi Super Megaphone Exhaust
  • Adjustable Camber tops
  • HKS Adjustable Coilovers
  • Strut Bar
  • JVC Media Player
  • Spitfire grounding kit
  • 15' Arreest Japanese wheels and Yokohama Practiva tires 195/65/15 (great tread)
  • Included Japanese Nardi clone steering wheel
  • Stainless steel brake lines
  • Aftermarket Raybrig headlights

Here is a list of issues
  • There is an area in the passenger rear where there was a minor fender bender. it is smooth on the inside panel but I could see the electrode marks from 5-6 pulls on the inside used to fix it. I have a video of this, it's very very minor but I have to mention it.
  • The driver's seatbelt is sloppy, it's a known issue with these, they were recalled in the US but it will not cover this Japanese model under recall.
  • I switched the steering wheel to a fat airbag (airbag non functional) American one because the Japanese one (which is included) annoyed me because the center hub was noisy.

Payment in full either a cashiers check or cash must be received within 3 days of auction end. I can work with your shipping specialist in order to get this delivered safely to your door. There are no test drives without cash in my hand, unfortunately about 15 years ago I had an individual crash and total a vehicle (eagle talon turbo) of mine that was for sale on eBay.
I am not a rotary guy but I am a car guy, I will do my best to answer any of your questions to the best of my ability. I do not have any service history being that this car is from Japan. According to the paperwork I am the second owner. All outward appearances suggest this was well taken care of.

I added more photos of the interior as well as one of the odometer, don't forget it is all in kilometers, 154,000 kilometers is about 96,000 miles. This is going to sell to the highest bidder and is a no reserve auction.
