This 1982Lotus Eclat 2.2 Riviera was found in indoor storage in California while clearing the previous owner's estate. This is a rare Lotus model known for sporty handling, with a 2.2 Liter 4 cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission; VIN SCC084912CHD11127. It should be an excellent candidate for restoration. The car is not in running condition now, but indications are that it passed California emissions and was registered and driven in CA as late as 2004-2005.It was then placed in indoor storage and remained there until its recent discovery. The car appears to be entirely stock/factory original, with the possible exception of the instrument cluster. Actual mileage on the engine & drive components is uncertain, but some paperwork suggests it's about 37,000 miles, NOT the 251 miles currently showing on the odometer. Exterior is in fair condition overall; there is a cracked fiberglass section on lower front air dam. Frame and undercarriage show some rust but seem solid. Interior trim & upholstery are functional but in poor condition with cracking and some split seams. Tires hold air but are not roadworthy. Engine air inlet/cleaner cover assembly is missing. Some rubber engine hoses & lines are in poor condition. Battery is long gone. Dual rear exhaust outlets/mufflers are missing. Any knowledge of the car’s history or modifications was lost with the previous owner. Description of the car’s current condition is as accurate as possible, but the seller is neither a Lotus expert nor an auto mechanic, so the car is sold AS IS.
