1977 Jeep CJ

Red 1977 Jeep CJ7.

LOW RESERVE--- Up for auction is a red 1977 Jeep CJ7, with an AMC V8 304 motor matted to a 400 Automatic transmission with power steering and power brakes. Original Quadratrac 4X4 Jeep. Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. The Jeep is lifted and has 35-inch tires. Fiberglass body tub and fenders with a metal hood and grill. No rust. I have had this Jeep for a few years with many plans but unfortunately very little time. As a result, it has sat idle for too long and so I have decided to let it go and let someone else enjoy it.

This is a great looking 26years old Jeep but, as it has not been used in a while, it does need some work. Of course, if you’re looking at this listing then I imagine you know how much fun they are and the quirks that come along with them… “It’s a Jeep thing”! I will try and be as detailed as possible regarding any known issues and I’m happy to answer any questions as quickly as possible as the Jeep is sold AS-IS and WHERE-IS. If the buyer needs to have the Jeep shipped, I am happy to help assist but any shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer.

The Jeep originally had a straight six-cylinder motor which was upgraded by the previous owner to the AMC V8 304 motor it currently has. This is an Automatic transmission Jeep. The Jeep starts right up and runs and last passed NYS inspection in 2020. As the Jeep has sat for a while without driving it appears the old gas has caused the Edelbrock carburetor to run rough and it will need a rebuild or have the jets cleaned. The Jeep will also need brake work as the Power Booster seems to have stopped working… could be a vacuum leak or the booster itself, but that will need to be fixed and should be addressed before driven. The ignition switch in the steering column is loose and there is a battery drain that will need to be looked into as well. The previous owner had the Jeep lifted and rather than using the standard rubber body mounts used reinforced metal bracing as seen in the photos. I imagine you could switch it back if choose or leave it as it is.

All headlights, taillights, turn signals, windshield wipers and dash instrumentation function properly. As you can see in the photos some of the heater controls and radio are absent but they are easily obtained online from one of the many Jeep parts vendors should you want to put them in.

As you can see the Jeep looks great on the interior with no rips or tears in the front or rear seats, and since it isa Fiberglass body, rust will never be an issue. The exterior is also in great condition with no dents or cracks. I would note that the paint is fading and there are a few spots where the under-color is showing through. As mentioned above, the tires are 35-inch but the spare tire in the photo is not the correct size.

This is a beautiful1977 Jeep CJ7 and, as you know, they are becoming harder to find each day. Photos of the Jeep were taken only a few days ago so it is exactly as pictured. No doors or top included. Roll bar has the family bars added (connects the roll bar to the windshield) but they can easily be removed with a couple of screws if you prefer the traditional CJ7 look.

Please read and look at the pictures carefully and feel free to ask as many questions as you like. I will do my best to answer all questions as soon as possible. Additional photos and video of the Jeep running are available upon request.

I have put a very low reserve on this Jeep so bid to win!

Good luck and happy bidding!
