The following is a list observations about the vehicle prepared for a buyer in good faith in the name of full disclosure. The completeness and accuracy are not guaranteed.
This vehicle was purchased from a neighbor in Seattle around 2004. He sold it because he was being transferred to New York City. He reported that he put in a rebuilt engine and rebuilt transmission. The vehicle was brought to rural Washington in 2007 and has remained there and been used very little since. It is currently registered in WA. The vehicle has been stored in an open garage resulting in some rust. A few years ago, mice ate some of the upholstery on the drivers side door - see pics. The low range of the gearbox does not engage. The lever is under the driver's seat. A mechanic at the time said he believed it was a linkage issue. He informed me that the 4WD works fine.
The temp gauge sometimes sticks and doesn't present a reading. The vehicle has a 180 degree thermostat. Air conditioning does not work.
The heater fan works intermittently. One of the electric passenger rear windows doesn't open.
Tires are approx 20 years old and were on the vehicle when it was purchased in 2004. They look really good and still have lots of tread.
The battery, radiator and starter have been replaced as well other parts; many of them were purchased from Team Grand Wagoneer.
The driver's seat belt clasp doesn't work. The driver side belt does work with the middle seat belt clasp. It is not ideal but works for now. [New Owner should replace driver side seat belt upon receiving the vehicle.]
Vehicle was repainted years ago by a technical college as a student project. Some small chips have appeared. This included putting on new wood grain trim that was purchased from Team Grand Wagoneer.
The electric door locking mechanism sometimes engages without input when the driver's door is shut. We always leave the wing windows unlatched to provide access.
The drive side door key entry does not work. Only the passenger side door lock key works. Keep wing windows unlocked to get in if necessary.
There is no radio. The tailgate window sometimes doesn't work. Usually spraying the channels with silicon lubricant or the switch with contact cleaner fixes it. The rim on the inside of the right front tire has a slight dent in it. It was discovered a few months ago when the tire went flat after the vehicle had not been driven for a long time. Since then the tire has had good pressure and has not gone flat, and it was never flat in past years. The Jeep emblem on the hood comes loose and has to be tightened often. The hood cowling (grate between wipers and hood) was removed to clean out debris. It was replaced without the rubber seal installed. The seal is intact and has been saved.
For years, only ethanol free gas has been used in the vehicle. It runs very well on ethanol free premium, but misses a bit on ethanol free regular. It usually starts right up after three or more five second attempts. We typically release the auto choke by tapping the gas pedal after a few minutes to bring the RPMs down to idling speed.
The Jeep is being sold out of Washington State, however the vehicle is currently garaged in Portland, OR with my son who is helping me with the sale on eBay.
Winning bidder will be responsible for shipping the vehicle from Portland, OR.The Jeep usually starts right up and after a few tries. If not check the celluloid wires. Reattaching them usually fixes it. Please message me with any further questions.
