This 1978 Jeep CJ-5 is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives.
1978 CJ—5 Golden Eagle Levi’s edition with the coveted 304 V-8. Soft top and bikini top are in excellent condition.
The Jeep runs great, no leaks, and the paint is near perfect condition. No rust except a little around the front windshield. The KC lights do not work and the gas gauge doesn’t either. The CJ-5 has a small gas tank but there are two Jeep gas cans that come with it. I was told they were an option in the 70’s.
The front seats are torn along the seams but ride comfortably. The back seat was in storage by the previous owner for well over a decade but I set it in the back for these pics. You can see the Levi’s buttons sewn into the backseat fabric.
The tires are virtually new and the hubs lock like you’re turning the volume knob on your radio.
The front bumper is heavy steel and is not original.
I drive it weekly locally and I’ve driven it straight for an 1.5 hours at 55mph without any issues.
