Description:

1986 Jeep CJ

You are bidding on a 1986 Jeep CJ-7 with 350 Chevy V8:

We are the second owner and have owned it for about 23 years. Originally a Southern California vehicle, it has spent the last 21 years in the NW. This Jeep has always been stored indoors and has never been abused off-road. It has only been driven, or towed behind a motorhome in the summer months (June-September). This Jeep is not a daily driver, it is my wife's FUN vehicle for sunny days only (thus, June-September in the NW!). Therefore, residing in the NW, it is a relatively low mile vehicle at 108,200 miles on the odometer (several thousand miles are a result of towing four wheels down, not actually driving miles) and approximately 20,000 miles on the 350 Chevy engine. Includes the original hard top and doors, but they have not been on the Jeep in about 15 years and was recently installed for the sale. Also included and shown in the pictures is a bikini-top and soft half-doors in excellent condition. 1986 was the last year of the AMC Jeeps. This CJ-7 was originally equipped with the AMC 2.5 liter (150 C.I.D.) inline four cylinder engine and a Borg-Warner T-4 four speed manual transmission. In 2002/2003, the four cylinder was replaced with a Chevy 350 crate motor. The SBC engine is completely stock, as received in the crate, and equipped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and a 600CFM Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. The engine has stock cast iron exhaust manifolds with custom dual exhaust running through high-flow mufflers. The Borg-Warner T-4 transmission was adapted to the 350 SBC using Advanced Adapters bell housing and motor mounts. All other drive-line components are original stock AMC/Jeep running gear. Warn winch, virtually new, never used.

Exterior/Body:

All original body panels. Never wrecked, never abused, no rust, and no dents! All original paint with the exception of under hood which was color matched and repainted when the SBC was installed. A few chips in the original paint exposing the factory primer, but no rust. Includes original stock hard top and doors. Doors also have original matching paint. Doors and hard top have been in storage (indoors) for approximately 15 years.

Interior:

Brand new racing seats installed this year. Five-Way racing belts included, but not installed (still in the box). Brand new after-market stock style replacement back seat installed at the same time as well as a new center console. Stock factory roll-bar (never used! J)

Full Disclosure:

There are no known mechanical issues other than a very minor oil leak/drip and the gas gauge reads inaccurately (probably needs a new sending unit).
