Vehicle Details

Auctions take time, money, and effort to run, therefore only serious bidders please. If you are the high bidder at the end of the auction, you are committed to buying it! This is a rare find! A real 1977 super scout, one of 783 for the first-year production. I'm not sure of the breakdown of how many were equipped with the most desirable 345/4 speed, power steering, power disc brakes like this one, or how many are left, but certainly few! The previous owner had the body tub media blasted and epoxy coated, new quarter panels installed, and resprayed in the original white paint. The windshield and seal were replaced, super scout specific mirror is present, along with the fender flairs, and heavy fiberglass door plugs to replace the original plastic ones. The front grill is a new reproduction. Behind the new grill is a new aluminum radiator, which cools more efficiently than the original one. Behind the radiator is the largest available scout engine, the 345 v-8. This one was removed from the scout for inspection/ cleaning/painting/maintenance. It was verified by the line set ticket that it is the original engine. It has a new water pump, starter, radiator hoses, heater hoses, belts, freeze plugs, rear main and front seals, oil pan gasket etc., along with the head gaskets. Engine is standard bore, standard crank, standard connecting rod bearings and are original IH. The truck has a new optima red top battery, new carburetor, throttle cable, fuel pump, coil, plugs and wires. Fuel tank was cleaned out, and original skid plate is present. The odometer reads just over 50k miles, the tags expired in 1987, the engine, and other components reflect that it is most likely accurate but have not attempted to verify. Certainly, low mile for the age! This Scout came with factory dual exhaust, and has recent mufflers installed. The 4-speed manual shift transmission shifts nice and smooth, transfer case works as well. There are DANA 44 axles front and rear, disc brakes in the front, 3.54 gears. It has 4 new 31-inch tires on wagon wheels, new wheel and master cylinders, soft lines, and a rebuilt brake booster with a new proportioning valve. The interior features the original "super scout" dash pad with the correct snaps, and a very nice original "sport" steering wheel, new ignition switch, key switch, and turn signal switch. Seats were reupholstered in black vinyl, floors which are original, no patches found, have been bed lined, and the original factory roll bar is in place. This truck starts easily, sounds awesome, and has good power! Clearly this truck has had lots of work done but might still need some work to get it to the level you want. This is not a 100-point show car, it was built for driving and having fun with it. It is over 40 years old. It has not been driven far, or fast as the tags expired in the 1980's! You are bidding to own this vehicle, the deposit of $500 is due at the end of the auction and is not refundable, please have all of the funds available and the blessing from your significant other to purchase. You are welcome to ask questions or set up a time to come see it and I will do my best to accommodate you. I can do a walk around video of the truck running for the seriously interested. Blue Texas title in my name in hand. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
