1977 International Harvester Scout Scout II

Vehicle Details

1977 International Harvester Scout II. This is a running and driving International Scout II with the 345 CI V8 engine and front disc brakes. I have a clear/clean Utah title in my name. Please look closely at all the photos. This is a restoration project that can be driven as the restoration progresses. I want the new owner to know exactly what they a getting. With this goal in mind, I will list both the positive and negative aspects of my Scout. Before I list the description, I want to answer the question - why am I selling my Scout? I'm a retired teacher and I'm 81 years old with two other classic cars that I'm restoring. In preparation for restoring the Scout. I purchased the complete Shop Manual for 1977 Scouts whIch comes with it. I don't have the funds or the time for all three of my vehicles. The reserve is low and well under the Scout's value. If you have questions, not covered in the description, please give me a call. My name is Bob and my number is (801) 745-5835. If you have less than five (5) positive feedbacks on Ebay, please call or message me on Ebay before bidding. I want this to be a good straightforward auction. The positive aspects of my Scout. It is a running and driving Scout with a clear Utah title. It is complete and has power steering, front disc brakes, and a four speed transmission and four wheel drive. It has dry floors and a solid frame. All the glass is in place and only the front windshield has a chip. The brakes work good, the transmission shifts properly, and the power steering works well. Engine sounds good and doesn't smoke. The complete top, from the front windshield to the tailgate, comes off. The negative aspects of my Scout, 1. As the photos show, there are rust issues that are shown in the photos. There is old rust repairs in the rear fenders that was not done very well. The floors and frame are in good shape, and overall the body is straight but the pictures show the problem areas. Repair panels are easy to find. 2. The ignition switch needs work. The Scout starts by turning the key and then pushing a (none original) starter button. 3. The Scout was stored for several years and the gas tank should be cleaned. I'm running the Scout off of an auxiliary gas can. It has a new original fuel pump and starts easily. 4. The tires are old. The tires hold air and have good tread, but I would suggest replacing them. 4. The seat are usable, and fit nicely, but I don't think the seats are original to the Scout. 5. I have not closely checked the lights, etc. Everything is there, and appears to be in order. 6. it has dual exhausts, but needs mufflers. As I mentioned, if you have questions about the Scout don"t hesitate to give me a call. My number is listed above.
